TEAM TRAINING: This is quite simply one of the very best gay porn movies ever made. Set in a very modest-looking sports club (Sokol) and gym, where on one late summer afternoon six young athletes who're part of an amateur soccer team have gathered to train under the guidance of their captain, real-life soccer-player Chad (two other team members have missed practice but we'll see why later), this film was partly improvised and it is an irresistible success, thanks to a perfect cast, completely into the task at hand, and to what the AVN reviewer calls quite rightly "Director Boggs' obvious love of his nine lanky, laughing soccer-players". The magic of the moment is captured again and again, with the keenest attention. The opening scene of Adam and Julian sets the screen on fire and incredibly the film never slows down after that. There is no real story, just erotic tensions between the teammates' characters that are admirably made visible and heat up to the point that they must overflow. Little ad-libbed moments (Adam's teasing joke about being queer, Joseph's failed attempt at confusing Donis) are kept in, as well as the models' sexy comments about what they are doing or how good it feels. The wonderful behind-the-scenes sequence conveys perfectly the band-of-brothers spirit that made this film possible. After the virtuoso intercutting of the first three scenes, the encounter of Julian and Ernesto on a ping-pong table is probably the pivot of the film (it looks back to a similar scene in Score! (Bronco Studios), a soccer film made the year before, already starring Chad Driver). Before we return to the "younger" guys in different combinations, the "older" guys get their group scene, building up from Joseph and Devon getting frisky together to Joseph throwing a brisk fuck into Johny to Chad walking in, still reeking from his episode with Julian and Adam, to get gangbanged by his three teammates. To mention just this one example, this was Johan Volny's first appearance and in a way his gay character epitomizes what the film is about: he has a serious crush on teammate Ernesto (whom he gets at the end) but that doesn't stop him from giving in to Martin's advances in the lockerroom. Similarly, at the beginning of scene 6, Julian watches from the sidelines as Johan and Ernesto wrestle in the nude and get aroused and frisky with each other : he has his dick out and begins to jerk off, but he looks like he feels excluded after his great moment with Ernesto. He never tries to break them up or join them, however, instead he leaves and goes to find Martin still hanging out in the lockerroom. Will he keep his arranged date with Adam in the evening ? All the characters have dreamy moments, but they all find their way back to horniness and the hottest sex with their buddies and comrades.
